I turned 70: is a nude beyond expactation?
Is there a possibility to make a good esthetic image of my naked body, at the age of 70? To make a beautiful "nude"? Nude means that I want it to be seen! Nakedness is mine, it's not for the world, not yet.
A naked women of over 70 is not portrayed a lot in the art world. I found the beautiful series 'reclaiming women's bodies' from Ponch Hawkes (2021) and also some very nice images on modelsociety.com.
I didn't want a portrait of my naked body, I wanted a "nude".
To find some good photos of my "nude", I needed to photograph myself naked. Wrinkles and scars are okay, but it needed to be esthetic. Hundreds of photos are taken, all self-portraits. And only a few were eligible as "nude".
And I love them.
I love the hundred or thousands of tiny wrinkles on my belly. I like the scar that is covered in wrinkles.
